What is cannelloni?
Cannelloni is a cylindrical type of pasta that can be filled with meat sauce or vegetables. Cannelloni pasta is perfect for any occasion. In Italy we cook this pasta on Sunday when all the members of the family are together.
They can only be oven-baked. You can used mince meat or pork with tomato sauce (Bolognese), or instead of the meat use vegetables.
Ingredients for preparing Cannelloni recipe with vegetables
1 pack of mozzarella cheese (depends how much cannelloni you want to cook)
2 packs of champignon mushrooms (should be enough)
400g of spinach
1 box of cannelloni
Tomato Sauce with Basil
cooked cream (you can choose to not pour on top)
How to prepare Cannelloni with vegetables
Clean the spinach (chop them) and mushrooms (cut in slices)
Sauté the spinach and the mushrooms in a Teflon pan with a little bit of olive oil and a pinch of salt for 10 minutes
When the vegetables are cooked, let it cool
when the vegetables are lukewarm, stuff cannelloni with spinach, mushrooms and mozzarella cheese and put it in the pan
pour the tomato sauce and cover the cannelloni.
sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top and cooking cream (If you want to pour it)
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 15 minutes.
